Eco-friendly luxury super yachts.
DANISH YACHTS has developed the New Eco-friendly range of Super Yachts
At last the world of luxury is collaborating with the environment
Danish yachts (www.danishyachts.com) has pioneered the first eco-friendly super yachts. So how have they done this?
Project 116: SHOOTING STAR is a good example of how Danish Yachts has managed to build an eco-friendly super yacht.
It has used pioneering technology, designed to work with our oceans at top speeds of 51 knots
HOW?:
- It has installed energy efficient engines.
- Electricity is generated using wind power.
- Its made out of carbon fibre for a lighter boat which allows efficient jet powered engines creating minimum fuel consumption.
- Insulated properly to lower the boats loss of heat.
- Tinted reflecting glass is used to reduce loss of energy through panels
- The designers have also installed a waste water discharge system. This eco-friendly technique complies with the MARPOL (Marine Pollution) requirements.
- The generators will function at a higher RPM (speed) than the usual standard of most yachts, this makes the engine light and efficient while simultaneously decreasing the NOx (gasses) content of the exhaust.
- Danish Yacht makes all the effort to utilize environmentally sound, recyclable and biodegradable materials
I hope you enjoyed this article, I believe its this type of engineering that is really going to make a difference. What do you think?
